well you see ihave prophecies and well iwant to get factions and the other one do i have to get the cd key for them just like i had for prophecies bcuz my friend has factions and i never asked him if we need cd key.so can i just install it on my pc without adding it to my account or i need to buy the cd key?

you can get a trial key from your friend or you can buy the game but you need the cd key to play

and you need to add the cd key to the same account as your prophecies account or your characters from prophecies can't play the factions or nightfall campaigns as they'll be new accounts

The Guild Wars client is actually the same for all versions/chapters, the actual install media is irrelevant regarding what you can access.
